I’m still reading the book ‘Hero on a Mission’ and it has an important message for me because it refers a lot to creating a sense of meaning in our lives.

Perhaps because I’m prone to overthinking, I’ve struggled with a sense of meaninglessness in my life. When I am at my rock bottom it is because life feels meaningless and I can’t see the point. I imagine this tendency might afflict (Enneagram) type 5’s more than other types. No doubt it affects some people much more than others.

“Will you make your life meaningful or will you suffer the existential vacuum?”

The book offers a three step process for creating meaning in your life and taking an active role in your evolution:

“We build lives of meaning by stating an ambition, by enduring challenges, and by sharing our lives with others.”

The process is one I’ve been using for some time, however seeing it laid out and described as a way of bringing meaning to life is a powerful reframe.

I am grateful to know that I no longer need suffer bouts of experiencing meaninglessness or existential crises. This is an absolute godsend.

What meaning do you want to create?
