Lesson #14: Fear is a portal for expansion
Do you ever feel like your life is smaller than it could be but not know what to do about it. I can tell you. You need to move into something you fear, something you’ve been avoiding, and move through the fear until you come out the other side.
Fear keeps us small. It keeps us safe. For a long time I used to set myself challenges of various sorts. Like posting for 100 days on Instagram. Things that would scare me ‘a bit’. And no doubt there would be some expansion as a result. But I would say that the expansion is proportional to the level of fear.
As I write this I realise that a big fear I am beginning to move towards is around putting out, and promoting, a coaching offer I have been developing. The fear bears down like a pressure and my tendency is to get distracted, to avoid, to do anything but. And also, the fear comes in and scrambles my brain, and throws up all sorts of doubts and excuses. This awareness is helpful as without it I can unconsciously find what feel like totally legitimate excuses not to do it. But I’ve played small for too long. It’s time for me to step into expansion. A new life awaits.
What is something you fear. Can you make a plan to face this fear. Are you ready for your life to expand? Let’s go!
